Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a lofty garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
