Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
