Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the daybreak, 1 by the Ten (secret) Nights, 2 By the even and odd (contrasted); 3 by the night when it journeys on! 4 Is there not an evidence in this for those who have sense? 5 Did you not see how did your Lord deal with (the tribe of) Aad? 6 Who were very tall like lofty pillars, 7 the like of whom no nation was ever created in the lands of the world? 8 And with (the tribe of) Thamud, who clove the rocks in the valley; 9 And (with) Firon, the lord of hosts, 10 [It was they] who transgressed all bounds of equity all over their lands, 11 And heaped therein mischief (on mischief). 12 Wherefore thy Lord poured on them the scourge of His torment. 13 indeed, your Lord is ever watchful. 14 As for man, whenever his Lord trieth him by honouring him, and is gracious unto him, he saith: My Lord honoureth me. 15 whereas, whenever He tries him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "My Sustainer has disgraced me!" 16 Nay, but ye (for your part) honour not the orphan 17 and you do not urge one another to feed the needy, 18 Why do you take away the inheritance of others indiscriminately 19 And love wealth with abounding love. 20 Most certainly when the earth is smashed and blown to bits. 21 And thy Lord shall come and the angels, rank on rank. 22 And on that Day hell will be brought [within sight]; on that Day man will remember [all that he did and failed to do]: but what will that remembrance avail him? 23 He will say: "Oh, would that I had provided beforehand for my life [to come]!" 24 So on that Day, none will punish as He will punish. 25 and none can bind with bonds like His! 26 [But to the righteous, God will say], "O soul at peace, 27 return to your Lord, well-pleased, well-pleasing. 28 Then enter the ranks of My chosen bondmen! 29 Enter then My garden." 30
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
