Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
And by the sun and its brightness; 1 and the moon as it reflects the sun! 2 and by the day as it displays the sun's glory, 3 By the night when it envelopeth it, 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 And the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 When the basest of them broke forth 12 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! 13 But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: 14 He does not fear the consequence. 15
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
