Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
