The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And denied the best matter, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
