The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
