The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
