The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
