Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the horses) that charge snorting, 1 And striking off fire by dashing their hoofs. 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 Then thereby raise dust, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 Verily man is unto his Lord ungrateful. 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ Is he not aware that when whatever lies (buried) in the graves is overthrown; 9 And the secrets of the breasts are made known, 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
