The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 Striking stones with their hooves, sparking fire. 2 And raiding at dawn 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 thereby storming [blindly] into any host! 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Is he not aware that when whatever lies (buried) in the graves is overthrown; 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 Surely, on that Day, they will know that their Lord had full knowledge of them all. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
