Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 Nay! you shall soon know, 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 And yet if you knew with positive knowledge 5 You should most certainly have seen the hell; 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
