Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 till you reached the grave. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then, on that Day, ye shall surely be asked of the delights. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
