Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
