Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 in a high Garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
