Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
