The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven with its impregnable castles; 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
