The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 There is no doubt that this book is a guide for the pious; 2 Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.]. 3 who have faith in what has been revealed to you and others before you and have strong faith in the life hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord; and they are the successful. 5 As for those who deny, it is all the same if you warn them or not, they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. 7
