WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 towards thee on the right hand and on the left hand in knots? 37 Does every one of them aspire to be admitted into a Garden of Delight? 38 Certainly not! They know quite well out of what We created them. 39 But nay! I call to witness the Lord of the Easts and the Wests, that We have the power 40 To bring better people than they in their place; and they will not be able to thwart Us. 41 So leave them to their vain disputes and amusement till they meet their day (of reckoning) promised them, 42 the Day on which they will hastily come forth from their graves, as though they were hurrying on to the altars of their deities. 43 With lowered eyes, disgrace overcoming them; this is the day, which they had been promised. 44
