Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
