Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth how it has been spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah). Sent down in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
