Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
