Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
