The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
