The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But save him who fears 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
