We sent Moses to the Pharaoh and his nobles with Our miracles and a clear authority. 96 to Pharaoh and his nobles. But they obeyed the command of Pharaoh even though Pharaoh's command was not rightly-directed. 97 He shall head his people on the Day of Resurrection and cause them to descend into the Fire, ill is the descent descended! 98 A curse followed them in this world, and shall follow them on the Day of Resurrection. What a foul gift to be given! 99 These are some of the stories of communities which We relate unto thee: of them some are standing, and some have been mown down (by the sickle of time). 100 It was not We that wronged them: They wronged their own souls: the deities, other than Allah, whom they invoked, profited them no whit when there issued the decree of thy Lord: Nor did they add aught (to their lot) but perdition! 101 And such is the punishment of your Lord when He punishes the towns while they are unjust; surely His punishment is painful, severe. 102 In this there is, certainly, a lesson for those who fear the torment of the next life in which all people will be gathered together 103 And We do not delay it except for a limited term. 104 On the Day of Judgment no one will speak without the permission of God. Some will be condemned and others blessed. 105 As for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling. 106 Abiding therein so long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; surely your Lord is the mighty doer of what He intends. 107 ۞ And as for those who will be glad (that day) they will be in the Garden, abiding there so long as the heavens and the earth endure save for that which thy Lord willeth: a gift unfailing. 108 So be not thou in doubt concerning that which these (folk) worship. They worship only as their fathers worshipped aforetime. Lo! we shall pay them their whole due unabated. 109
