Say: "Truly am I a Warner: no god is there but the one Allah, Supreme and Irresistible,- 65 "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- Exalted in Might, able to enforce His Will, forgiving again and again." 66 Say: 'This is a mighty message 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 It is revealed unto me only that I may be a plain warner. 70 (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay". 71 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate, 72 The angels fell down prostrate, every one, 73 save Iblis; he waxed proud, and was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 (God) said: "Then go hence, ostracised. 77 Upon you will be My damnation till the Day of Doom." 78 He said: "O Lord, give me respite till the day the dead rise from their graves." 79 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 80 till the Appointed Day." 81 (Iblis) said: “By Your glory, I shall mislead them all 82 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 83 The Lord said, "I swear by the Truth - and I speak the Truth - 84 That I will most certainly fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all. 85 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this, nor am I a man of false pretentions: 86 This is nothing but an Admonition for all people the world over. 87 you shall before long know its truth." 88
