Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
