Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you seen the one who turned away 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
