۞ And We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night, for ye will be pursued. 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities (to mobilise troops) 53 saying: "These (Israelites) are only a small band of people 54 they have enraged us, 55 And indeed, we are a cautious society... " 56 We deprived them (the unbelievers) of gardens, springs, 57 and [deprived them of their erstwhile] station of honour!" 58 Thus it was, but We made the Children of Israel inheritors of such things. 59 The people of the Pharaoh pursued them at sunrise. 60 When the two forces drew within seeing distance of each other, the people of Moses said: "We shall certainly be overtaken." 61 He replied: Nay indeed! My Sustainer is with me, [and] He will guide me!" 62 Thereupon We inspired Moses thus: Strike the sea with thy staff!" - whereupon it parted, and each part appeared like a mountain vast. 63 And We brought near thither the others. 64 and We saved Moses and all who were with him, 65 Then drowned the others. 66 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 67 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
