The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
