And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
