and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 and indeed, We chose them knowingly above all other people, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
