The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
