NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning to mortals, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who will be in Paradise 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
