He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 You pay full attention, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 In honored books, 13 exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And We made corn grow, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
