The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And shade extended 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
