The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
