The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
