The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
