The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sun and its midmorning, 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 by the day, when it displays it, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 By the heaven and Who built it, 5 The earth and its spreading out, 6 And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, 7 And inspired in it the knowledge of its sins and its piety. 8 He will indeed be successful who purifies it, 9 And miserable is he who hath buried it. 10 The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. 11 When the most wretched of them was sent forth. 12 The Messenger of God told them, "This is a she-camel, belonging to God. Do not deprive her of her share of water". 13 Then they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)! 14 God is not afraid of the result of what He had decreed. 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
