Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
