He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 and angelic scribes. 16 [But only too often] man destroys himself: how stubbornly does he deny the truth! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And his mother and his father 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing, and rejoicing, 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
