Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 to burn therein. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
