The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
