Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 They used to say before: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
