Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Indubitable! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a lofty garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
