A crowd of earlier generations 39 And a multitude from the later generations. 40 And the fellows on the left hand; how miserable shall the fellows on the left hand be! 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 They used to say: “What! Once we are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, shall we still be raised to a new life from the dead? 47 "(We) and our fathers of old?" 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 and will thereupon have to drink [many a draught] of burning despair 54 lapping it down like thirsty camels.' 55 That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! 56 We have created you, why do you not then assent? 57 Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate? 58 Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone 60 In order that We may bring in your place the likes of you and make you grow into what you know not. 61 And [since] you are indeed aware of the [miracle of your] coming into being in the first instance - why, then, do you not bethink yourselves [of Us]? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 If We pleased, We should have certainly made it broken down into pieces, then would you begin to lament: 65 “We have been penalised; 66 Indeed, we have been deprived of the fruits of our labour." 67 Behold! the water which ye drink: 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
