In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
