Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 labouring, weary, 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden. 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
